Influence of Osmotic, Salt, and Combined Stress on Morphophysiological Parameters of Chenopodium quinoa Photosynthetic Organs

چکیده
Chenopodium quinoa Willd. is an annual facultative halophytic pseudocereal widely studied for its physiology and grain yield owing to great tolerance unfavorable growing conditions. However, the morphophysiological anatomical characteristics of plants’ photosynthetic organs under various combined abiotic stresses during early stages development have not been thoroughly studied. Therefore, current study compared influence osmotic, salt, stress at different intensities on morphology anatomy in young plants. The main findings demonstrate that salt intensity between 100 200 mM NaCl critical growth plants can withstand 300 NaCl. it be concluded some adaptation mechanisms were already violated a NaCl, while significant changes water balance observed possibly caused by damage cell structures.

متن کاملIonic and osmotic relations in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) plants grown at various salinity levels
Ionic and osmotic relations in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) were studied by exposing plants to six salinity levels (0-500 mM NaCl range) for 70 d. Salt stress was administered either by pre-mixing of the calculated amount of NaCl with the potting mix before seeds were planted or by the gradual increase of NaCl levels in the irrigation water. For both methods, the optimal plant growth and ...

The distribution of minerals in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) seed was examined using energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) in combination with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Phosphorus, K, and Mg coincided in localization in embryonic tissue. Since phytin globoids have been known to localize in protein bodies in embryonic cells of quinoa seed, it is thought that P is attributed...
